What is uni-assist?

uni-assist is the centralized application service used by 170+ German universities. It checks whether your international certificates meet German admission requirements before your application reaches the university.

There are two ways universities use it:

Full application via uni-assist — you apply through the My assist portal and uni-assist forwards your application

VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation) — uni-assist only evaluates your documents and issues a VPD certificate, which you then upload to the university's own portal (common for TU Berlin, and many others)

Step 1: Create your My assist account

Register at my.uni-assist.de. Enter your personal data exactly as in your passport.

Step 2: Enter your educational history
